- Federal Highway Administration
On August 10, 2005, President George W. Bush signed the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act:
A Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU). SAFETEA-LU authorizes the Federal surface transportation programs for highways, highway safety,

FHWA maintains this page for those interested in the new law signed in June of 98. Check out this site to see what actually
became law. The Bryan-College Station MPO received planning funds over a six year period while approximately $25 million
(in two separate grants) for rail and $7.5 million for the widening of State Highway 21 was earmarked for the Planning Area.
